A Message to Parents, Caregivers and Educators

The Colorado Talking Book Library provides tools for success to Colorado students unable to read standard print due to a visual, physical or reading disability. The library is a free service, so all qualified students in Colorado can make use of the library resources at no charge to them. Check out the Getting Started page for more information about who qualifies for CTBL services.

We are here to help with all reading needs by providing materials in digital audio, large print, and braille. When requesting materials for assignments or classroom use, please give us the longest possible lead time as there may be delays with items traveling through the postal system.

Library patrons are also eligible to use the BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download) program. BARD provides downloadable braille and audio reading material which can be accessed on a personal device like a smart phone, tablet, or braille eReader. The advantage of BARD over traditional delivery of library material is that BARD is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please contact the library by phone at 800-685-2136 or email at ctbl.info@cde.state.co.us if you have any questions about BARD or any other service we provide.
